About the event

Kids & Family Sleepover at NASA: Kennedy Space Center Please share this invite with your friends and family. This is an amazing opportunity for kids to learn about science. Open to (ages 7 and up) We are excited to make this happen for kids. NASA had NO dates in 2023 or 2024 to host this private event. They required a deposit for a minimum of 60 people to give us a date. Thanks to a group of moms from KLA Academy Private School and Renaissance Elementary Charter School we gave the deposit and have our date!!! But to confirm the event we need to have all payments in by July 4th, 2023.

Presently Miami is the number one city in the country for tech job growth. But we lack the talent to fulfill those new jobs! PLUS Girls and women are systematically tracked away from science and math throughout their education, limiting their access, preparation, and opportunities to go into these fields as adults.

Women make up only 28% of the workforce in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), and men vastly outnumber women majoring in most STEM fields in college. The gender gaps are particularly high in some of the fastest-growing and highest-paid jobs of the future, like computer science and engineering.

At Latinas Power, we want to change that. Children are primed for learning, and what they learn while they’re young will impact their interests later in life. Studies have shown that students begin to develop an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) during the elementary years.

Let's get our Kids excited with science!

Here’s their chance to be an astronaut and go into space (almost)!

  • Sleep under an actual Saturn V rocket that took men into space to land on the moon!
  • Meet an actual astronaut! Sit in Mission Control during a simulated Saturn Rocket launch!
  • Get a guided tour of the Saturn V rocket (which is longer than 4 football fields)!
  • Enjoy a 3D IMAX movie
  • Engage in group activities and a Scavenger Hunt!
  • Wake up to a sunrise bus tour of Kennedy Space Center grounds and launch pads!
  • Includes the $75.00 ticket at no extra charge to spend the rest of the day exploring Kennedy Space Center!
